This journal is dedicated to advancing scholarly research on leadership within the context of Islamic education. It focuses on the critical role of leaders in shaping educational practices, policies, and strategies in Islamic educational institutions. The journal explores how leadership impacts curriculum development, teaching methods, and the overall educational environment, aiming to foster inclusive, innovative, and adaptive leadership in the face of contemporary challenges. Articles published in this journal contribute to the development of effective leadership models that align with Islamic values and promote high standards of educational excellence.

JoIEL welcomes original research articles, theoretical papers, and critical reviews that examine leadership in Islamic education across various educational levels. The scope includes studies on leadership development, policy formation, management strategies, and the training of educational leaders in Islamic institutions. The journal particularly encourages qualitative research—such as case studies, interviews, and ethnographic approaches—to provide deeper insights into the lived experiences and practices of educational leaders. Research addressing leadership challenges and innovations in Islamic schools, universities, and other educational settings is highly encouraged. JoIEL is published twice a year, in May and November, and serves as a platform for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to share knowledge and foster dialogue on leadership in Islamic education.
